Many women try for years to have a baby, but unless you have any underlying health conditions preventing you from getting pregnant, there’s no reason why you shouldn’t be able to get pregnant fairly quickly by making sure you do all the right things. Here are five tips for getting pregnant quickly if you want to have a baby as soon as possible.

  1. Have sex at the right time

This might seem like the most obvious point to make, but many women simply aren’t having sexual intercourse with their partners at the right time of the month. For women who have a regular cycle and menstruate each month without any issues, they will ovulate usually around 14 days before their period starts. In order to have sex at the right time of the month and increase the chances of getting pregnant, track your ovulation and periods in order to discover when you are most fertile. This part of pre pregnancy planning can be difficult to understand at first, but there are many apps which can help you track this and then tell you after a month which would be the best days to try to conceive.

  1. Speak to your doctor or a midwife

If you have been regularly inactive or ate a poor diet and are struggling to get pregnant, you may have to spend a few weeks getting into a good routine before falling pregnant.

The more you stress, the more panicked you will become and believe it or not, the less likely you will be to conceive. Not only will be you be producing more cortisol – the stress hormone – but you’ll also be constantly worried and might not be able to relax while having sexual intercourse, making things more difficult for you and your partner.

  1. Have better sex

As well as having sex at the right time of the month, you can try having sex in different positions and using different sex toys and aids in order to promote conception. It might take a few months before you actually get pregnant, so be aware that this is normal and there is probably nothing wrong if it takes up to a year to become pregnant.
